As a mission-driven lender providing access to capital in communities that have been historically barred access to capital, we are launching sustainability measures to support the communities that disproportionately experience the brunt of climate change and environmental injustice.
Our sustainability efforts are headed by our Chief of Staff, Ushan Samarakone and supported by the Climate and Green Lending Specialist, David Ledesma who work in tandem with the leadership team to bring the organization’s sustainable efforts to life. In their roles, they coordinate with stakeholders, community members, local leaders, and government agencies to craft solutions that best serve the community.

Access Plus Capital is intensifying its sustainability initiatives to become a leader in Central California in green technology adoption by ensuring equitable access to funds and technical assistance to Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), women small business owners, and people from historically disadvantaged communities. We at Access Plus Capital lead by example to demonstrate the benefits of green technology adoption to our clients. As such, several eco-friendly projects are underway including installing a solar parking canopy to power the headquarters and provide shade in the parking lot, adopting electric vehicles for company use, and installing an EV charger in the parking lot for employee and client use.
Launching in Quarter 4 is the innovative Green Futures Loan designed for small business owners. It is intended to finance energy efficiency measures and upgrades for small business owners . Upgrades include refrigeration, HVAC, LED lighting, and more. With incentives like reduced utility bills, long term cost savings, and tax credits, businesses should consider adopting sustainable measures that can save them money in the long run.
