Solorio-Taylor Translators
Another Save Our Small Business Success Story Aided By Access Plus Capital
Maricela of Solorio-Taylor Translators said she felt like a whole load was taken off of her when she found out she qualified for the Save Our Small Business Loan to Grant program. She wasn’t alone. As COVID-19 swept through the country and began disrupting Central California businesses, programs like SOSB were crucial to the survival of our economy.
Maricela owns and operates Solorio-Taylor Translators in Fresno, they specialize in Spanish interpretation for various legal proceedings. She helps clients with translating judicial hearings which can be related to anything from prison, to welfare, to the DMV. She also assists local residents in the Central Valley who need help translating things like the contractor’s state licensing test or immigration hearings.
For a time, Maricela’s business was put almost entirely on hold. While everything moved online, she was left out of the loop on what was happening in the court systems. When the phone stopped ringing, she knew she would need help. Thankfully, Maricela learned about the Save Our Small Business program on the news, and with help from Mari at Access Plus Capital, was quickly approved.
Now that she knows she’ll make it through this tough time, Maricela has plans to grow. She’s been inspired to revamp her company now that the pressure of just making it through has been lifted. Maricela hopes to expand the virtual aspect of her business, offering Zoom call translation services, and potentially expanding to have a second Bakersfield office. With the new virtual landscape, she hopes to hire employees who can be available at any time.
When asked what advice she has for other business owners during this time, Maricela said, “Newer give up hope. Try to change, keep an open mind. You can make it through this if you stay positive and look for ways your business can change and continue to operate.”
